Top Stocks is about stock ideas
You receive five fresh stock ideas every day, drawn from distinct lists and supported by the industry-leading
data and research used by MarketSmith. Themes of Top Stocks lists include "fastest-growing companies" and "stocks with the
greatest growth potential."
Your stock ideas arrive as a row of ticker symbols near the bottom of the screen. Tap on a ticker to bring up
that stock's chart and information. Upgrades, Plus and Premier, allow users to access more lists by tapping the list name
at left and selecting from a menu.
Analyze each stock using two views:
A stock chart conveys a wealth of information (no pun intended). You can learn a stock’s price, its volume (or the
number of investors buying and selling it on a given day), the 50-day and 200-day moving averages of its price, the
relative strength and the high and low points of its price daily. You can also view a stock's fundamental data (see below),
earnings history, the next date a company is scheduled to report earnings, and more. To learn more about reading and
interpreting stock charts, visit MarketSmith Stock Charts Overview.
Top Stocks gives you two views for evaluating stocks: (1) the stock chart with fundamental data and (2) Stock Evaluation
with "The Professor." The Professor allows you to quickly evaluate how strong a stock is, without digging into the numbers
yourself. Gradually, you may begin to connect the Professor's analysis with the tools and stock chart. For more information
about understanding company fundamentals, go to MarketSmith Fundamental Stock Analysis.
Both views give you access to company fundamental data.
Fundamentals, data derived from a company’s quarterly and annual financial reports, are the best way to measure a
stock’s growth potential, to arrive at a proper valuation, and measure the characteristics of a good investment.
“...access to daily ideas, detailed charting, and institutional research available on demand is not something you can normally access for free.”
